We went on a Tuesday night and were able to get indoor seats without a reservation. We got the wedge romaine, dry aged burger, and pan roasted chicken. The burger was excellent as was the pan roasted chicken. Both are must gets and highly recommended. The burger lives up to the hype and we could definitely see why it gets the praise that it does. Service was fantastic and staff were very attentive.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Red Hook Tavern! The food was delicious, especially the ham croquette, wedge romaine with a generous piece of bacon, and the burger – all delightful choices. The restaurant exuded a chill vibe, and the service was decent. I recommend making a reservation as it's a small space with limited alternatives in the vicinity.

Came her for the burger and did not disappoint; Probably one of the best in NYC! Great staff and beautiful ambiance (perfect for date night). Arrived without reservation on a Tuesday evening so we were seated immediately. I suggest coming in early if you have none so you don't have to wait long (less than 5 mins). Had their large crab claw as appetizer - nothing to rave about but the crab itself was placed back into the ocean so it can re grow the claw again. I thought that was pretty cool. I had the burger x frites. The hype is real and I highly recommend it. My significant other had an oxtail and pasta dish, which was also amazing. For dessert, we had vanilla ice cream drizzled with mocha and topped with pecan. Definitely a must try. Overall, would do this again!

We continue the journey of "bangers only". Tucking into the Red Hook Tavern on a rainy Friday night after a week solo on the road, I was instantly flooded with warm, welcoming feelings -- reconnecting with "my people" -- those with a love of the extraordinary and simple. A classic burger, a glass of red, a cozy room, and a comfortable chair, I suddenly felt "home" and left full of both good food and good spirits. This is the best pub burger I've ever had. The dry aged patty is the star: juicy and packing enough beefy flavor to instantly cause my eyes to roll back in my head. The griddled bun, the American cheese try as they might to steal the show, end up in perfect support. A fairy tale experience for this weary traveller. Van Brunt St in Brooklyn is a nostalgic force to be reckoned with.

This place gets everything right. Atmosphere, service, food. I mainly come for 3 things. The shrimp cocktail, burger, and rainbow cookies. It’s just enough food for two people. Red hook hands down has the best burger in the city. The meat is tender and has a nice funk to it. Nothing is over powering and this burger isn’t trying to be something that it’s not. We also had amazing service from Kate!

Man! I came here on my Birthday and a couple of times befo that too for their Burger, it's one of the best there is. Better than all steak house burgers I guarantee you that! The french fries were great and the cocktails are too! I love this spot. Make sure you get the burger. Anything actually is amazing. Smoked a nice cigar right after that down by the Pier.

I’ve been wanting to go to red hook tavern for a very long time, I had already convinced myself it would be the absolute best burger I would try in my life … If you go by the pictures / social media / and sadly, reviews - you would think it is the absolute best burger in the world , (it sure looks like it!) … The reality: The beef Pattie is salty (and not flavorful) just salty but it was cooked perfect medium as I requested, the bun seemed to be drenched in butter & toasted (the butter was very overwhelming, I don’t think a burger bun should have any butter to begin with, just a nice fresh Italian roll / or potato bun toasted) this one is overwhelmed in butter … The bacon taste nothing like bacon (although bacon is optional), it literally taste like ham) … The fries were perfect, loved it! besides this, the place was packed both inside and outside, so they definitely have their following & know what they’re doing and people obviously love their burgers ( because looking around it was what most people were having) … Wish I can say I loved it, but I didn’t, not even kinda. Amazing portions, go there hungry!
